Opinion on Zodiac and Horoscope — 30 Days Writing Challenge
I don’t believe in horoscope, but it’s fun to read them sometimes.
I started to read about horoscope when my friend told me about a birth chart, it includes the sun sign, the rising sign and the moon sign that gives a depth look into what makes us tick. Simply, the sun sign is based on the birthday, it rules our personality — It’s the soul. I was born on December 3rd, and that makes my sun sign a Sagittarius. While the rising sign and the moon sign are determined by the place we were born and the exact time of our birth. The rising sign rules our outer appearance — It’s the book cover. The moon sign rules our emotional core — It’s the heart. Even though I don’t believe in horoscope, at least I could compare myself to the traits of my sun sign, rising sign, and moon sign.
Let’s start with my sun sign; Sagittarius.
From what I’ve read, basically Sagittarius is a hippie. Sagittarius value independence, intelligence, and freedom. Life is an adventure and earth is just a playground to be explored for Sagittarius. People with this sign are ambitious, energetic, and free-spirited. Sagittarius is the ultimate commitment-phobe, it’s not that Sagittarius doesn’t have a big heart and love, Sagittarius just loves their freedom even more. Sagittarius values honestly so much, the most truthful person among all. Here’s the summary of Sagittarius traits :
- Strengths : Generous, idealistic, great sense of humor
- Weaknesses: Promises more than can deliver, very impatient, will say anything no matter how undiplomatic
- Sagittarius likes: Freedom, travel, philosophy, being outdoors
- Sagittarius dislikes: Clingy people, being constrained, off-the-wall theories, details
Personally, I value freedom and I see my life as an adventure. I can’t stay put, so I love to look for something new, be it by traveling or hands-on learning. I like to set up bold goals in life. I often work hard and blast myself out of my comfort zone at every opportunity, somehow I always surpass, so I don’t mind being labelled as an ambitious. However, being loyal is my middle name. I’m highly committed to everything, and when it comes to love I usually give my 200% into my partner and relationship, thus I don’t count myself as a commitment-phobe. Well, sometimes I feel like I’m not totally a Sagittarius, but I can relate to the most of the stereotypes.
Okay, let’s move to my rising sign; Scorpio.
Scorpio ascendant is the strongest and most difficult ascendant of all. People with this ascendant are very idealistic, charismatic, magnetic and powerful. This ascendant sign can develop a great passion. Scorpio ascendant’s can be a hard person to get to know, but a fiercely loyal friend or lover.
As the rising sign rules the outer appearance, I can say that this rising sign suits me enough. I appear as a complicated person and I have a remarkable consistency and persistence. Once my enthusiasm is aroused, nothing stops me from fulfilling my dreams and ideas. Sometimes my plans are more complicated, and I have my own idealism for the implementation. My friends consider myself as a perfectionist, but I prefer to be called as an idealist.
Last, the moon sign on my birth chart; Libra.
People say that the moon sign represents the inner soul, the things that run under the surface, not necessarily the self that we present to the world. The moon sign in Libra is usually very charming and elegant. Women with a Libra moon sign often attract men, without even trying. Libra is a Moon Sign which highly values good taste in all things, but need balance encompasses all areas of life. As an arbitrator, Libra moons dislike conflict. People in the moon sign of Libra are very caring and sympathetic. Libra Moons see love as something sacred.
As a person with a Libra moon sign, I don’t think I often attract men tho I got my own charm but maybe not the irresistible one. I strive for fairness in life, which I couldn’t always find and can be very frustrating sometimes. When it comes to love, I mean it with all my heart and soul. I will do everything in my power to protect it. Overall, the traits of the Libra moon sign represent myself.
Well, I can say that the traits of those signs are relatable to me. Reading about horoscopes get me know myself better, at least. Again, I read for fun, I don’t believe in them.
